For a Naturist Gites Holiday Paradise Visit CHARENTE SOLEIL
This Easter Jan and I visited Brian and Erica Thomas at 'Charente Soleil', a naturist gites complex located in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Charente famed for its micro-climate and hot summers.
If you are thinking of taking a naturist gites holiday you need look no further!
Three of the four gites of 'Charente Soleil' are situated around the main courtyard area. The largest of these is 'La Chouette' which can sleep up to seven people by using the convertable sofa. Brian and Erica have converted this old house very tastefully, retaining many of the original features including beams, stone walls and an old oven. Outside is a covered terrace with wonderful views over the Charentaise countryside.
The sweet 'La Petite Maison' can sleep up to six people. This also has original features including beams and a beautiful Charentaise stone floor. It also has a wood burner as 'Charente Soleil' is open for non naturist holidays during the winter.
'L'Ecurie, also situated off the courtyard, can sleep up to six people. This also has many original features such as oak beams and limestone walls plus a lovely tiled living area. Outside there is a south facing patio which is a real sun trap.
Tucked around the corner by the boule area is 'Le Jardin' sleeping up to four people. As the name would imply, 'Le Jardin' has its own south facing garden which leads directly to the 10mx5m solar heated swimming pool. If you decided to come to 'Charente Soleil' for bed and breakfast then, subject to availability, this is where you would stay.
Should you wish to spend a day away from 'Charente Soleil' there are many options within easy reach.
Maybe the peace and relaxation of exploring the nearby Foret de la Braconne either on foot or by bike which you can hire from Brian and Erica.
Within half an hours drive is the historic city of Angouleme. Amongst the many attractions each year is the spectacular vintage car race around the walled ramparts of the city. This takes place in September.
You could try kayaking on the River Charente which is brilliant fun and very safe (we have taken our grandson Harry!).
There is also the theme park of Futuroscope at Poitiers. I'm not particularly into Sci-Fi but found this a great day out, as would children.
Although all gites have very well equipped kitchen areas, should you not feel like cooking when you return in the evening it is possible to have a 4 course meal with wine. Once a week there is a communal BBQ.
A few years ago Jan and I wanted to rent a gite with friends for a naturist holiday. None were advertised as such and I had to explain to the owners that we were naturist, was this agreeable, did we have to hide at any time of the day from neighbouring farmers etc.
Brian and Erica have taken all these problems away from you. If only 'Charente Soleil' had been in existence then.

but you had better be quick because they are getting very booked up.
Happy Holidays!
