Euronat Naturist Centre, Medoc, SW France

In 2007 we spent 2 weeks at Euronat Naturist park in Medoc,in SW France. This is a vast area of preserved woodland, where total nakedness is the order of the day.

We were more than pleased with our chalet, self catering of course, set in secluded clusters of woodland and shrubs. It was September time and most of the shops and services were shut after the French summer, but there was still plenty to do and see.

The beach is a good quarter mile walk along the path or by hired cycle if you want to - straight on to a pristine beach and there you may walk naked, right or left for miles, and find plenty of persons just like yourself. The mix of people was good - Germans, French and Brits and some Italians.

The bakery was very impressive, they always had fresh baguettes up to 7.00.pm. We found the food shop on site a bit expensive, but only a couple of kilometres away was a huge supermarket, where prices were seriously cheaper. They also have a vast array of cheese and wine - it's France after all!

We made a lot of our own entertainment including making full use of the nude tennis courts, free of charge but had to be booked in advance simply because of demand. We'll be back!

Finally a word of advice. While it's ok not to have the language in Spain or Germany, it helps to have some grasp of the French language. French people will help you along if you attempt to speak their language, but do not expect them to speak your language. They see it as a form of disregard for them. It's something I can actually admire in them!!
