The interior is spacious and comfortable. Downstairs there is a large living room with a wood burning stove, a fully equipped modern kitchen, and a shower room.Upstairs there are two large double rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a king sized bed. Both rooms have delightful views over the lake. There is also a separate cosy bathroom. Should you require additional sleeping facilities, there is a sofa bed in the living room!
Maybe you would not want to spend the whole of your holiday relaxing by the pool, sunbathing, having a drink on the terrace, or kayaking in the lake.
If this is the case, you are in a wonderful region of France to explore or take part in activities. The Limousin is a region of lakes, stunning natural beauty and rich history.
It is known as the Lake District of France and it certainly lives up to its name!
If you enjoy watersports then you must visit Lac St-Pardoux which is only fifteen minutes drive away. This is one of many beautiful lakes in the area, with sandy beaches perfect for swimming and fishing.
The nearby mountains of Monts de Blond offer the opportunity for hiking and mountain biking. Here you will also find the ironage megaliths of Rochers de Puychaud.

If you are not feeling quite this energetic, there are many picturesque medieval towns and villages in the locality. Try the renowned French cuisine and do a little sightseeing. Nearby Mortemart is officially designated as "one of the most beautiful villages in France".
Limoges is only thirty minutes away and has recently been declared a City of Art and History for the quality of its heritage of more than 2000 years history. It is famous for its fire arts (porcelain, enamel, stained glass).
At the end of the day you return to the haven of La Vergnolle and reflect on the day over a glass of red wine!
To reach La Vergnolle you have various options! Ryan Air and Flybe fly to Limoges from various UK airports. Hire cars are readily available.
By train, Eurostar runs to Paris with connections also to Limoges. The French road system is excellent and it is possible to reach here in a days drive from any of the French channel ports.
