Acorns in Devon

by Doug and Denise
(Eastleigh, Hampshire)

We decided to spend our summer holiday exploring Devon. After looking at a few campsites in the county, we found the website for Acorns, liked the look and decided to book.

The weather in Aug 08 was pretty abysmal for camping but we set up and started to enjoy the facilities Acorns has to offer. We had 2 nights of wind and rain followed on the 3rd morning by a gale force wind which pulled out a peg and ripped a large gash in our tent. Our tent was beyond repair, so we had to decide whether to stay or go home. Fortunately there was room in the B & B so we spent the rest of the week in luxurious accommodation. The following week we used one of the static vans. As "hotel inspectors" we can thoroughly recommend Acorns for a relaxing venue. The pool, sauna and hot tub were well used as was the nature trail around the grounds.

We met many lovely people there and all were of the same opinion. Well done Kathy and Andy and best wishes for your development plans.

I have just spent very good week at Acorns B&B and agree with what Doug and Denise have written. Excellent food, comfortable room and great company with Andy and Kathy and the other guests. I did like the wood burning sauna, much better than a boring electric one!! I will definitely visit them again sometime.
