You will discover Tissendie, surrounded by sunflowers, fields and pretty medieval villages and castles, in the beautiful area of Tarn et Garonne in southern France.
The gîte comprises a 13th Century cottage with a twin and a double bedroom, a shower room and toilet, separate galley kitchen and dining area – ideal for a small family holiday stay.
Another three double rooms in an adjoining area allows a total of twelve people to sleep comfortably, ideal for a larger group.
On the ground floor of the gite is the sitting and dining room.
This includes a tv/dvd, and also a log burner and panel heaters, making the gite suitable for staying at any time of the year. The bedrooms are situated off this area and have central heating.
The living area leads out to a south facing terrace.
There is a fully equipped galley kitchen area including oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
On the first floor there is a large open-space lounge, ideal for reading, relaxing or playing games.
Within the grounds there is a large al-fresco dining area and barbeque, and several other outdoor dining and seating areas.
Most guests choose to take advantage of the covered dining terrace and enjoy late evening BBQ’s whilst watching the breathtaking night skies.
There is a large 12m x 6m swimming pool. The cover slides off for hot weather but keeps the pool at an average of 28 degrees in colder weather. There are also ample sun loungers and parasols.
The whole garden is secluded and suitable for naturism.
A welcome pack, including local bread, croissants, milk, tea, coffee and wine from the region, is provided on your arrival to help you relax into your holiday.
The gîte is available as a self-catered gîte throughout the year with a “catered for” option possible by request.
When the gîte is booked during June, July, August and September then it is exclusive to that client or party.
Extras include internet access & TV, and a library of books, DVDs and various board games.
All bed-linen, indoor and pool towels are included, and there is also an iron, ironing board and hairdryer available.
Should you wish to venture away from Tissendie you will not be short of things to do.
There are beautiful chateaux, museums, lakes, beaches, grottos and vineyards in the area.
For the more energetic there are opportunities for such activities as canoeing, pony-trekking, water-sports, running, golf, walking and cycling.
Visiting one of the local markets held in many nearby towns and villages is a must, and a great place to pick up seasonal and regional specialities to try back at the gite or to take home.
There are many good restaurants from Michelin Star to small bistros to sample the exquisite food and wine which is produced in the area.
Another great experience is to visit a “marché gourmand” (gourmet market), which most of the villages organise on different nights of the week throughout July and August.
Alternatively, you could just choose to relax by the pool, soak up the peace and quiet of the wonderful countryside, or take advantage of a spa treatment (or two!).
